BOOKING & CANCELLATION

1.Reservation & Deposit

  • To secure your expedition with Gibbon Adventure, the following deposit schedule applies:

    • Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your guides, permits, and specialized accommodation.

    • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 45 days before your tour start date.

    • Note: For bookings made within 45 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.

2.Cancellation by the Guest

  • If you must cancel your trip, please notify us in writing (info@gibbonadventures.com). The following cancellation fees apply based on when we receive your notice:

    • 46 days or more before departure: Loss of the 50% deposit.

    • 31 to 45 days before departure: 75% of the total tour cost will be charged.

    • 30 days or less before departure (including “No Shows”): 100% of the total tour cost will be charged.

3.Cancellations by Gibbon Adventure

  • We rarely cancel confirmed departures. However, we reserve the right to do so in the event of:

    • Force Majeure: (e.g., extreme weather, natural disasters, safety concerns, or government-mandated park closures).

    • Safety: If our lead guides deem the conditions unsafe for photography or trekking.

    • Our Commitment: In these cases, we will offer you an alternative date or a credit voucher. If neither is possible, we will provide a refund minus any non-refundable costs already paid to third-party providers (like park permits or specific lodge deposits).

4.Refund Policy for Unused Services

Please note that no refunds or credits will be provided for:

  • Unused portions of the itinerary due to guest arrival delays or early departures.

  • Inability to participate in certain activities due to health or fitness levels.

  • Equipment failure on the part of the guest (cameras, drones, etc.).

5.Mandatory Travel Insurance

  • Because many of our tours involve remote Bornean locations and specialized logistics, comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory.

    • Your policy must include “Trip Cancellation & Interruption” coverage.

    • This ensures that if you have a medical emergency or a sudden change in plans, you can recover your costs through your insurer.
